
The Wife of the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Tuberculosis (TB) Ambassador for Ibeju-Lekki and Lekki LCDA in Health District III, Alhaja Ramat Bola Kasali, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting grassroots awareness and supporting initiatives aimed at eliminating Tuberculosis across communities.
Alhaja Kasali made the commitment during the TB Health Talk and Awareness Campaign in Schools held at Iwerekun Community Junior High School. The campaign was led by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, through the Office of the First Lady Tuberculosis (TB) Steering Committee (OFILI), in collaboration with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
The awareness campaign equipped students and teachers with essential knowledge on the causes, prevention, early detection, and treatment of Tuberculosis. Participants were also encouraged to become advocates for healthy living within their schools and communities through an engaging and interactive session.
In her keynote address, Dr. Sanwo-Olu reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to eradicating Tuberculosis through sustained public awareness and improved healthcare initiatives in schools. She also highlighted the establishment of a sick bay at the school as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the health and well-being of students.
Delivering the closing remarks, Alhaja Kasali commended the First Lady, the Chairmen of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki LCDA, as well as other stakeholders, for their dedication to the fight against Tuberculosis. She stressed the importance of sustained collaboration in raising awareness and ensuring healthier communities.
She reaffirmed her resolve to continue championing initiatives that promote disease prevention, public health education, and improved healthcare outcomes for residents across Ibeju-Lekki and Lekki LCDA.
