The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at combating drug abuse as he received the Area Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Narcotics Division, Ibeju-Lekki, SK Garba, on a courtesy visit.

The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between Lekki LCDA and the NDLEA in advancing the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, the agency’s flagship advocacy initiative designed to raise awareness, prevent substance abuse, and encourage collective action against illicit drug use.

During the engagement, both parties discussed the importance of strategic partnerships between government institutions and the NDLEA in promoting a drug-free society. The delegation stressed the need for sustained public enlightenment, particularly among young people, through advocacy programmes in schools, communities, and other relevant platforms.

Speaking during the meeting, Engr. Kasali commended the NDLEA for its continued efforts in tackling drug abuse across the country. He reaffirmed the readiness of Lekki LCDA to support programmes that promote healthy living, protect young people from the dangers of substance abuse, and strengthen community safety through preventive education and stakeholder collaboration.

The NDLEA delegation appreciated the council chairman for the warm reception and expressed optimism that the partnership would further advance the objectives of the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign within the council area.

The visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to working together to build a safer, healthier, and drug-free Lekki LCDA.
