Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has marked one year in office of her second term with the presentation of official vehicles, commissioning of development projects and reaffirmation of her administration’s commitment to grassroots transformation.
Speaking during the anniversary celebration on Monday, July 27, 2026, Princess Bada expressed appreciation to residents for renewing her mandate and supporting her administration’s vision, noting that the past 365 days had been dedicated to improving the lives of the people through impactful projects and programmes.
She stated that the anniversary was not only a celebration of one year in office but also an opportunity to showcase the achievements recorded under her leadership, adding that every completed project represented a fulfilled promise to the residents of Ikosi-Isheri.
As part of the activities marking the anniversary, the Mayoress presented official vehicles to councillors, while utility vehicles were also presented to the Revenue Committee, LASCOTA, Market Committee, Task Force, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), League of Imams and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
She also presented a brand-new Coaster Bus to complement the existing staff bus, aimed at improving staff welfare and mobility. Princess Bada disclosed that executive members of the council would receive their official vehicles in the coming days as the anniversary activities continue.
The Mayoress also commissioned several infrastructure projects, including Onibeju Street, Yomi Kuye Street, Anibaba Street, Remi Shofoluwe Street, Science Road, Emmanuel Street, Irepodun Street and Owodunni Street, all completed with drainage systems and solar-powered street lights.
Other projects commissioned include the Mini Waste Transfer Station, Public Toilet Facility, Reinforced Council Fence, Staff Canteen, newly concreted Council Secretariat floor and the new Fire Station, which she said would enhance public safety, environmental sanitation and service delivery across the LCDA.
Princess Bada further revealed that the council had strengthened its Task Force with the recruitment of additional officers to improve security, enforcement and safety within Ikosi-Isheri.
She attributed the achievements of her administration to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, commending the President for his commitment to strengthening local government administration across Nigeria.
The Mayoress also appreciated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his support and leadership, which she noted had provided local governments and LCDAs with the opportunity to execute projects that directly impact residents.
While assuring residents of more developmental initiatives, Princess Bada pledged that her administration would continue to focus on road infrastructure, public facilities, security, empowerment programmes and quality service delivery.
She called for the continued support, prayers and cooperation of residents as her administration works towards building a safer, greater and more prosperous Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
