… Anniversary campaign highlights the power of partnerships and community service

The GLOWFUX initiative has unveiled its 10th anniversary programme, marking a decade of bringing joy, hope and memorable experiences to children and young people in vulnerable circumstances.
The unveiling took place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Oshodi Art Centre, Ikorodu, during a media engagement attended by members of the media, partners, supporters, friends and stakeholders of GLOWFUX.
In his welcome address at the event, the Project Lead of GLOWFUX, Mr. Olubode Mac Oserinde, reflected on the initiative’s journey over the past decade, recalling that GLOWFUX began ten years ago with a simple desire to see fewer tears and more smiles on the faces of children and young people whose circumstances had denied them some of the joys and experiences others often take for granted.
Oserinde said the initiative had grown from what was initially a “little seed” into a movement sustained by compassion, volunteerism, partnerships and the collective willingness of individuals to make a difference in the lives of others.
He noted that behind the ten-year journey were thousands of children and young people who had experienced moments of joy, homes that had received support, families and caregivers who had felt remembered, as well as volunteers, partners, donors and individuals who had contributed to the cause.
According to him, GLOWFUX goes beyond giving items or providing material assistance, as its core mission is to create memories, restore hope and give children and young people in organised needy homes experiences that remind them that they matter.
He explained that the initiative has reached orphanages, rehabilitation centres, shelters for children living on the streets, homes for children who have experienced abuse and facilities caring for young people living with physical challenges.
Oserinde said GLOWFUX seeks to create an atmosphere where beneficiaries can laugh freely, play, dance, receive and feel celebrated, while, most importantly, knowing that somebody cares about them.
He stressed that the continued relevance of GLOWFUX was driven by the reality that there were still children and young people who needed support and reassurance that they had not been forgotten.
“Somewhere tonight, a child is still waiting for someone to care. Somewhere, a home is still hoping for support. Somewhere, a young person simply needs to know that they have not been forgotten,” he said.
As part of the 10th anniversary programme, GLOWFUX has lined up a series of activities designed to extend its message of compassion, community service and celebration throughout the year. The programme began with the Celebrity Young Ambassadors’ Meet & Greet, held on August 11 and 13, followed by the Media Unveil and Volunteers’ Orientation on August 15.
The anniversary activities will continue with a Novelty Charity Match, scheduled for October 24 or 31, while the celebration will culminate in the Anniversary Charity Concert/Grand Finale on December 28, 2026.
Speaking on the significance of the anniversary programme, Oserinde described the milestone as more than a celebration of the past, saying it represents the unveiling of a new chapter for a movement built on love, giving and humanity.
He reaffirmed the initiative’s belief that every child deserves moments worth remembering and every young person deserves the dignity of being celebrated.
The Project Lead also highlighted the importance of collective action, noting that the impact recorded by GLOWFUX over the years could not have been achieved by one person alone.
He recognised the contributions of donors who chose to give, volunteers who offered their time, partners who stood with the initiative, the media that helped tell its story and individuals who simply decided to make someone smile.
He therefore appealed to members of the media to continue telling the GLOWFUX story, amplifying its call and connecting the initiative with individuals and organisations willing to give, partner, volunteer and make a difference.
The 10th anniversary initiative is receiving support from notable organisations, including UAC Foods, Beloxxi Biscuits, CINI Holdings, Kingsmead Group of Schools, Peak Milk and Courteville Business Solutions.
Oserinde expressed appreciation to the partner organisations, volunteers, donors, supporters and everyone who had contributed to the GLOWFUX journey over the past decade.
He also dedicated the anniversary celebration to every child and young person whose smile has become part of the GLOWFUX story, stressing that the celebration belongs to them.
The GLOWFUX @ 10 campaign is consequently positioned as a renewed call for humanity, compassion and collective action towards improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
With ten years behind it, GLOWFUX is looking ahead to a greater journey of service, impact and hope, with the conviction that the best part of its story is still waiting to be written.
