Oshinowo: “I Fulfilled My Duties as Council Chairman, I Will Not Fail You as Your Federal Lawmaker” ~Ajasa-Info

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has assured constituents of his commitment to effective representation, promising not to disappoint them if elected to the National Assembly.

Oshinowo gave the assurance during a thanksgiving and special prayer session organised by the Kosofe Muslim Awareness Forum in collaboration with the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation, Coalition of Affiliated Asalatu Groups and Ase-Oluwa Multipurpose Cooperative Society.

Reflecting on his tenure as Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Oshinowo said his experience in local government administration had equipped him with the knowledge and understanding required to effectively represent the people at the federal level.

According to him, his administration at the LCDA demonstrated his ability to identify community needs, develop practical solutions and deliver projects that directly impact residents.

He also reiterated his commitment to tackling poverty and creating opportunities for economic empowerment, stressing that his legislative agenda would focus on initiatives capable of promoting financial independence and improving the welfare of constituents.

Oshinowo called for collective support for the APC, urging constituents to consolidate their votes behind the party to enable him effectively advocate for their interests in Abuja.

“Good governance is a shared responsibility. The achievements we have garnered in the past resonate strongly, but it is imperative that you consolidate your votes behind the APC to empower me to effectively advocate for your needs in Abuja,” he said.

The event also featured testimonies from members of the forum, who commended Oshinowo for his contributions to the community and support for various initiatives.

Alhaja Sanusi Fausat, proprietor of Scholars’ Circle Schools, presented a special award to Oshinowo in recognition of his support for initiatives aimed at assisting out-of-school children and promoting their educational development.

Similarly, Engineer Afeez Rahman honoured the APC candidate for his contributions to grassroots development and his support for the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation over the past decade.

The Ase-Oluwa Multipurpose Cooperative Society also expressed appreciation to Oshinowo for his role in facilitating the establishment of the financial organisation, which has provided support to members of the community.

Imam AbdulGaniyu Mustapha, an elder in the community, equally acknowledged Oshinowo’s timely intervention during a difficult period when his home was destroyed by fire, describing the assistance as an indication of his compassionate approach to leadership.

The Convener of the programme, Abdulwaheed Odunuga, described Oshinowo as a public servant whose record was anchored on delivery, innovation and accountability.

Odunuga said Oshinowo’s achievements as council chairman provided a credible governance framework that could be translated into effective legislative representation at the federal level.

He highlighted some of the projects undertaken during Oshinowo’s tenure, including the development of housing estates, resolution of community disputes, construction of stadia and the transformation of markets into modern facilities.

He urged constituents to consider competence, integrity and proven performance when making their electoral choices, stressing the importance of informed participation in the democratic process.

The gathering was attended by notable political figures, including Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA; the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Abubakar; Dr. Murtala Seriki, APC House of Assembly candidate for Kosofe Constituency II; and Mr. Tosin Ashafa, Director of Operations, City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter.
