Hon. Batife Daisi Delivers New Cafeteria at LG Primary School, Majidun ~Ajasa-Info

Hon. Batife Daisi, Deputy Leader of Ikorodu West LCDA and Councillor representing Majidun-Ogolonto Ward, has delivered a newly built cafeteria at LG Primary School, Majidun, under the Renewed Hope Support Project, in honour of Late Hon. Felix Idowu Aro, who served as Leader of Ikorodu West LCDA from 2008 to 2011.

The commissioning was performed by Hon. Sesan Dada, former Vice Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, on behalf of Hon. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan, APC Candidate for Ikorodu West LCDA.

Speaking at the event, Daisi explained that he noticed the condition of the school during the campaign and observed that vendors had no suitable sheltered space while receiving and selling food and other essential items, particularly during rainfall.

He said the vendors also brought the situation to his attention, prompting him to promise that he would address the challenge. Daisi added that he specifically promised that within his first year in office, he would construct the cafeteria for them.

According to him, the completion of the project marks the fulfilment of that promise. He added that he had also constructed a cafeteria at C&S Primary School during his first tenure.

Daisi urged the school authorities to ensure proper monitoring and maintenance of the newly constructed facility, stressing the need for it to be well cared for so that pupils and vendors can continue to benefit from it.

Also speaking, Hon. Salau Rukayat Ajibike, Secretary to the Local Government, Ikorodu West LCDA, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, described Daisi as a wonderful representative of the people.

She said the construction of another cafeteria for a school in his ward demonstrated his commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents and contributing to community development.

Hon. Enitan Jessica Oba, Leader of the Legislative Council, Ikorodu West LCDA, said the development was not surprising to her, noting that Daisi had previously constructed a cafeteria for another school.

She described him as a wonderful representative of the people who consistently yearns for the good of his constituents.

Speaking on the project, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, described the cafeteria as timely, particularly given the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for food preparation and consumption.

Odumbo appreciated Daisi for the initiative, describing it as one of the first of its kind and deserving of commendation. He noted that Daisi had also constructed a cafeteria during his first tenure and commended him for continuing with similar interventions in his second tenure.

He further described the project as an example that could inspire other councillors and public office holders to undertake initiatives that improve the welfare and environment of schools within their communities.

One of the vendors, Mrs. Joshua Anuoluwapo, also narrated the condition of the previous facility, describing it as inadequate and not conducive for the vendors. She appreciated Daisi for fulfilling his promise to provide a better facility for them.

The project was delivered under the Renewed Hope Support Project in honour of Late Hon. Felix Idowu Aro.
