
Stakeholders in Apeka community have convened ahead of the forthcoming general election, with participants resolving to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting was initiated by Omoba Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex, Supervisor for Health, Ikorodu North LCDA to bring together political leaders, community representatives, youths, elders, religious groups and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the community and strategies for coordinated mobilisation.
The gathering featured the presence of Hon. Juwon Olobi, Councillor representing Agbala Ward; party leaders; youths; elders; members of the Community Development Association (CDA), led by its Chairman, Barr. Jagun; zonal party executives; non-indigenous residents, including members of the Ndigbo and Hausa communities; as well as representatives of the Muslim and Christian communities.
The Baale of Apeka community was also present and expressed encouragement and support for the party ahead of the forthcoming election, urging stakeholders to work collectively towards achieving their political objectives.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Juwon Olobi shared words of wisdom and experience with the participants while emphasising the importance of unity and collective action in grassroots mobilisation. She also expressed her support for the initiative and encouraged stakeholders to sustain cooperation across the community.
Following extensive deliberations, the stakeholders unanimously resolved to return to their respective zones and commence door-to-door mobilisation of eligible voters. They also encouraged residents who had completed voter registration to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) when the collection exercise begins.
Participants expressed appreciation to Omoba Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex for initiating the stakeholders’ meeting, describing it as an opportunity to bring various groups within Apeka together and strengthen collaboration ahead of the election.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for APC candidates, Nigeria, Lagos State and Ikorodu, led by the Chief Imam of Apeka community.
