Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in Hon. Akeem Bamgbola as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, alongside Hon. Folashade Olabanji-Oba and other members.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, on Monday, October 19th, where the Governor charged the newly appointed officials to hit the ground running and ensure effective service delivery to residents of Lagos State.

Other members of the commission are Hon. Adeyinka Durosinmi, Mr Ahmed Seriki and Mr Shamsideen Olaleye.

Sanwo-Olu urged the appointees to uphold the highest professional standards, demonstrate integrity and accountability, and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

He noted that their appointments reflected their experience and contributions to public service, while placing greater expectations on them to strengthen institutional performance and deliver measurable results.

“Our vision of a Greater Lagos requires a public service that can translate policies into results. The people of Lagos must be able to see the difference that effective governance makes in their daily lives,” the Governor said.

He further urged the commission members to remain accessible and responsive in the discharge of their duties, encourage initiative, promote collaboration and address administrative challenges with professionalism.

Speaking earlier, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Olabode Agoro, described the appointments as another significant milestone in the state’s pursuit of excellent service delivery and effective governance.

Agoro assured the Governor that the appointees were ready for the responsibilities ahead, expressing confidence that their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm would contribute to strengthening the public service and advancing the development of Lagos State.

He added that the appointments reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to meritocracy, professionalism, accountability and transparency.

In their votes of assurance, the appointees expressed appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to perform their duties diligently and efficiently in the interest of Lagos State.

Dr Folashade Olabanji-Oba expressed appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in her and acknowledged the great leaders in Ikorodu Division for their support and encouragement.

She pledged to discharge her responsibilities diligently and contribute meaningfully to strengthening the Local Government Service Commission and improving service delivery across Lagos State.
