Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA Sustains Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise ~Ajasa-Info

Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has sustained its monthly environmental sanitation exercise as residents participated in the October edition on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

The exercise, which formed part of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Exercise, recorded the participation of residents, traders and households across the council area.

Between 6:30am and 8:30am, movement was restricted as residents swept their surroundings, cleared drainage channels, cleaned their frontages and properly disposed of waste.

The monthly exercise aligns with the administration’s GLORY Agenda, which stands for Good Governance, Learning, Optimal Wellness, Roads, Youth and Sports, particularly its Optimal Wellness pillar, which prioritises environmental cleanliness, public health and community wellbeing.

Speaking on the exercise, Chairman Aroyewun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining environmental sanitation and encouraged residents to embrace cleanliness as a daily responsibility rather than limiting it to the designated monthly exercise.

He also emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment, preventing flooding, reducing the risk of disease outbreaks and promoting a healthier community.

The council reiterated its commitment to sustaining the monthly exercise, urging residents, traders and other stakeholders to continue supporting efforts towards a cleaner and healthier Igbogbo/Baiyeku.
