
The District President of Leo District 404A3 Nigeria, Leo Adedamola Anthony Ogunmokun, has reaffirmed the district’s commitment to building capable leaders and strengthening effective club administration as members participated in a three-day Retreat and Leadership Training designed to enhance leadership capacity, membership development, and service delivery.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, Leo Ogunmokun described the retreat as a strategic platform to equip members with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to lead their clubs effectively, grow membership, execute impactful service projects, and uphold the ideals of Lions Clubs International. He encouraged participants to actively engage in every session and apply the lessons learnt in their respective clubs and communities.
The three-day programme combined virtual and physical sessions covering key areas of leadership and administration. The retreat commenced on July 16 with an online session on Effective Administrative Proceedings, facilitated by Leo Tunde Lasisi.
Activities continued on July 17 with a virtual training on Membership Growth and Retention, facilitated by Leo Tosin Alabi, followed by the first District Football Competition coordinated by Leo-Lion Oni Adeolu.
The physical retreat, held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Larry King Hotel, Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos, featured sessions on Club Administrative Roles and Record Keeping, Project Highlighting, Funding, Partnership and Grants Planning and Execution, MyLions Portal, and Conflict Management and Resolution. Participants also attended a delegate meeting and a networking dinner.
The retreat concluded on July 19 with an aerobics session, the second District Football Competition, and a Thanksgiving Service at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Imota.
Leo Ogunmokun expressed confidence that the retreat would strengthen the capacity of Leo members to provide effective leadership, improve club operations, foster collaboration, and implement impactful humanitarian projects that will positively impact their communities.
He reaffirmed the district’s commitment to continuous leadership development and service excellence across Leo District 404A3 Nigeria.
