Eko Campus Fest Central Working Committee Visits Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism ~Ajasa-Info

The Central Working Committee of Eko Campus Fest paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, ahead of the second edition of the festival.

The visit, led by the Convener of Eko Youth Tourism Club, Comr. Ogunye Oluwaseun, was aimed at seeking strategic partnership, support and collaboration with the Ministry towards the successful delivery of Eko Campus Fest Season 2.

The second edition of the festival is scheduled for December 18 and 19, 2026, at the main campus of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu, Lagos State, under the theme, “Beyond the Campus: Celebrating Culture, Tourism, Talent and Enterprise.”

The committee presented the vision of the festival, describing Eko Campus Fest as a youth-focused tourism, cultural, creative, entrepreneurial and entertainment initiative designed to bring together students and young people from tertiary institutions across Lagos State.

The maiden edition of the festival was held at the Lagos State University, Ojo Campus. According to the organisers, the long-term vision is to take the festival to different tertiary institutions across Lagos State, creating a platform for young people to discover and promote Lagos tourism, celebrate cultural heritage, showcase their talents and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

Speaking during the visit, the Convener, Comr. Ogunye Oluwaseun, said the second edition would build on the achievements of the maiden edition by providing a larger and more impactful platform for youth engagement and participation in the tourism and creative economy.

He added that the initiative aligns with the efforts of the Lagos State Government in promoting tourism, cultural heritage, youth development, creativity and economic opportunities for young people.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, applauded the Central Working Committee for its initiative and commitment to promoting the culture and tourism potential of Lagos State.

She commended the young people behind the festival for creating a platform that encourages students to connect with the state’s rich cultural heritage while developing their talents and entrepreneurial potential.

She further encouraged the committee to sustain its vision and continue to explore opportunities that would strengthen the impact of Eko Campus Fest across tertiary institutions in Lagos State.
