Residents, community leaders and beneficiaries from across Ikorodu Division have commended the Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, for his impactful representation, infrastructural interventions and sustained support for constituents.

The commendations came during the August edition of the monthly Apo Anu food-pack distribution, a project of Rep. Babajimi Benson through the Babajimi Benson iCare Foundation, which continues to provide food support and relief to residents across Ikorodu Division.

Beneficiaries who received the food packs expressed appreciation to Rep. Benson, describing the initiative as a meaningful intervention that continues to provide relief to elderly residents, widows, vulnerable households and other members of the community.

Speaking at the programme, Rep. Babajimi Benson stated that Ikorodu Division recorded over 60,000 votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, describing the figure as the highest recorded for the President in Nigeria.

He disclosed that the target for the 2027 presidential election is 250,000 votes for President Tinubu from Ikorodu Division, while expressing confidence in the continued support of the people.

Rep. Benson also announced that a mega empowerment programme would be coming soon, noting that the initiative would be beneficial to residents across the constituency.

In the same vein, Eko 57 LG visited the people’s representative, with its Convener, Lege Miami, commending Rep. Babajimi Benson and describing him as one of the few public office holders effectively replicating the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through his impactful work across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

He noted that the various projects and initiatives of the lawmaker demonstrate a commitment to translating the Renewed Hope vision into tangible development and improved welfare for the people at the grassroots.

Also speaking, Yomi Fash-Lanso, an Executive Member of Eko 57, described Rep. Babajimi Benson as a good lawmaker who effectively represents the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and delivers the dividends of democracy through impactful projects and initiatives.

He commended the lawmaker for his consistency in reaching out to constituents and for maintaining programmes that have direct benefits for residents.

Earlier, the Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. Sunday Benson, commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for what he described as massive developmental interventions across Imota.

Hon. Sunday Benson highlighted the 80-bed hospital project, alongside several road projects and other interventions by the lawmaker. He noted that the impact of Rep. Benson’s representation is visible across Imota LCDA and that more developmental projects would still come to the area.

He thanked Rep. Babajimi Benson for his continued commitment to the development of Imota and for the various projects and initiatives that have positively impacted residents.

Former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, described Rep. Babajimi Benson as a wonderful representative who has remained committed to the development of Ikorodu Division.

Hon. Oshin said Rep. Benson never gets tired of serving his constituents, noting that the recent approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Pacific Road project and the flyover was among the notable achievements of the lawmaker’s representation.

He added that Rep. Babajimi Benson has done wonders across Ikorodu Division through various projects and interventions, commending him for his continued commitment to the growth and development of the area.

A resident from Isiwu also expressed appreciation on behalf of aged members of the community who benefited from Rep. Benson’s solar intervention, saying they sent their greetings and appreciation to the lawmaker for remembering and supporting them.

She further shared the testimony of one of her siblings who is battling cancer and had received support from Rep. Benson. According to her, her sibling equally sent her greetings and appreciated the lawmaker for the assistance, describing the gesture as a demonstration of compassion and concern for the people.

Another resident, Samuel Ojo, described Rep. Benson’s infrastructural interventions in Ikorodu North LCDA as massive, particularly highlighting road projects stretching from Adamo to Araro, as well as the intervention in Agbede.

Ojo noted that despite the challenges associated with some of the locations, Rep. Benson did not allow the difficulties to discourage him from addressing the needs of the communities. He said the lawmaker went ahead with the road projects and several other interventions, which have improved movement and connectivity across Ikorodu North.

Similarly, a resident from Ward D in Ikorodu West LCDA spoke about the Otunubi Road intervention, recalling the accessibility challenges previously experienced in the area.

The resident explained that tricycles could hardly connect to the community and that the area was often referred to as “bush.” According to the resident, the intervention by Rep. Babajimi Benson has transformed the situation, as the road has now opened up the community and allowed tricycles and other vehicles to access the area.

The resident said vehicular movement can now reach the community with greater ease, describing the Otunubi Road project as a major relief for residents and a significant improvement in connectivity.

The various testimonies reflected appreciation from residents across Ikorodu Local Government, Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Ijede LCDA, Imota LCDA and Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, with beneficiaries acknowledging the impact of the lawmaker’s interventions in their respective communities.

Beyond the monthly Apo Anu food distribution, residents highlighted road construction, improved access to communities, street lighting, solar interventions, healthcare infrastructure, Empowerment, and other constituency projects as some of the interventions that have contributed to development across Ikorodu Division.
