Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Anomo, has concluded a three-day onboarding retreat for members of the 6th Executive Cabinet, aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, promoting effective governance and equipping political office holders with the knowledge required to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

The retreat, held from Thursday, August 20 to Saturday, August 22, 2026, marked the first of its kind in the Council and was organised in line with the THRIVES Agenda of the Anomo administration, particularly its focus on Infrastructure and Institutional Excellence.

The programme featured practical sessions on key aspects of local government administration, including procurement procedures, budgeting, due process and the Lagos State Local Government Administrative Guidelines. The sessions were designed to enhance participants’ understanding of administrative processes while promoting compliance, accountability and efficiency in government business.

A major highlight of the retreat was the formal unveiling of the administration’s THRIVES Administrative Blueprint by Chairman Anomo.

Presenting the blueprint, Anomo outlined the vision, priorities and strategic direction of his administration, highlighting both its immediate objectives and the foundations being established for sustainable development beyond the current administration.

The T.H.R.I.V.E.S. Agenda covers Tourism, Technology and Digitalisation; Healthcare and Human Capital Development; Rural Transformation, Revenue Growth and Agricultural Development; Infrastructure and Institutional Excellence; Value Creation, Youth and Women Empowerment; Education, Environmental Sustainability and Economic Growth; as well as Security, Social Welfare and Sustainable Communities.

Anomo explained that the blueprint was developed as a comprehensive development framework rather than merely an administrative slogan, providing direction for policy formulation, programmes, budgeting, implementation and long-term planning across the LCDA.

Members of the Executive Cabinet also received presentations on their strategic responsibilities as political office holders, with emphasis on purposeful leadership, teamwork, accountability and the need to deliver measurable impact within their respective portfolios.

The retreat further featured health and wellness activities, including a health talk and medical screening for participants, underscoring the importance of the wellbeing of public officials in carrying out the demands of governance.

The three-day programme also provided an avenue for members of the 6th Executive Cabinet to gain a clearer understanding of their individual and collective responsibilities, strengthen working relationships and align with the administration’s broader development vision.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the Anomo-led administration to developing not only physical infrastructure but also a competent, informed and institutionally strengthened government capable of delivering sustainable value to the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
