Ladega Strengthens Healthcare Support with Free Medical Outreach in Ikorodu ~Ajasa-Info

Prince Abdul-Lateef Adedayo Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare with a free medical outreach held as part of activities marking its first anniversary in office and in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The outreach, held at the Open Space, Ita-Elewa, provided residents with free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, tuberculosis testing, eye screening and free glasses. The initiative was designed to bring basic healthcare services closer to residents while encouraging early detection and prevention of health challenges.

Ladega said the outreach was a reflection of the appreciation his administration has for residents who supported it with their votes over the last 365 days. He explained that the increased allocation from the Federal Government has also provided local governments with greater capacity to execute projects and programmes that directly impact residents.

He stressed that “health is wealth,” noting that his administration places the wellbeing of residents, particularly the elderly, among its priorities. He added that the healthcare intervention forms part of broader efforts to address different areas of residents’ needs and improve their quality of life.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Babalwale Bisiriyu Alogba, commended Ladega for the progress recorded within his first year, noting that the administration had made significant interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, education and human development.

APC Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, described the achievements of the Ladega administration as enormous, highlighting the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the local government, including the road at the back of the cemetery, among other projects.

Also speaking, Hon. Babatunde Shotomiwa highlighted the administration’s massive road projects and efforts to strengthen security, noting that security has been given greater attention under Ladega’s leadership. He also commended the administration’s welfare initiatives, including Mudun-Mudun Ladega, and disclosed that 30 boreholes had been completed across the local government.

The Council Manager, Savage Olubode, appreciated stakeholders, medical officers and residents who turned out for the outreach, commending their support and expressing gratitude to the chairman for prioritising healthcare and the overall wellbeing of residents.

The free medical outreach further underscored the administration’s focus on grassroots development, bringing essential health services directly to residents while complementing its broader interventions across Ikorodu Local Government.
