Rhoda Youth Center has distributed educational materials and uniforms to pupils of Methodist Primary School and other primary schools in Ikorodu LGA, as well as Igbogbo Methodist Primary School and other schools in Igbogbo.
Speaking at the programme, the Chairman of Rhoda Youth Centre, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, appealed to parents and employers to take greater responsibility for the welfare, dignity and proper upbringing of children. He emphasized that children are a collective heritage and deserve adequate care, support and compassion.

He explained that the Centre’s educational initiatives, including teachers’ workshops and school-support programmes, are focused on improving the lives and future of children. He stressed that providing decent school uniforms and essential learning materials can boost pupils’ confidence and help them participate fully in school activities.
*Asiwaju Erogbogbo* disclosed that the initiative began with the provision of school bags, uniforms, socks, exercise books and other materials to beneficiaries last year. The programme is being sustained, with beneficiaries expected to continue receiving support through Primary Six.
This year’s distribution included exercise books, writing materials, school uniforms, sandals and socks. New school bags were not distributed because the quality bags provided last year remained in good condition.
He further revealed plans to extend the initiative to more primary schools and explore scholarship opportunities for outstanding pupils as they progress to secondary school. He also highlighted an existing intervention aimed at supporting a beneficiary’s transition to a suitable secondary school.
In her remarks, Mrs. Maureen Awulonuh explained that the initiative represents a continued commitment to making education more comfortable and accessible for children from less privileged backgrounds.
The programme culminated in the formal distribution of the educational materials to the pupils, reaffirming Rhoda Youth Centre’s commitment to investing in the education, dignity and future of children across Ikorodu Division.
