Engr. Rasak Bamidele Kasali, Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has engaged community leaders, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, youth representatives and members of the public in consultations ahead of the council’s 2027 budget.

The Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum, organised by the Budget Department of Lekki LCDA, was held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the council secretariat to gather residents’ needs, expectations and development priorities for the coming year.

Addressing participants, Kasali highlighted the council’s achievements, ongoing projects and investments in healthcare, urging residents to take advantage of the healthcare facilities and services available across the LCDA.

He also encouraged stakeholders to openly communicate their needs and make recommendations that would guide the preparation of a budget responsive to the realities of the people.

The chairman acknowledged the impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s removal of the fuel subsidy on resources available to the council, noting its implications for funding and the execution of developmental projects.

The forum also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to commend the council’s efforts, raise concerns and request projects and interventions they would like prioritised in the 2027 fiscal year.

The engagement forms part of Lekki LCDA’s efforts to promote participatory budgeting, accountability and inclusive development by incorporating the views and aspirations of residents into its plans for the coming year.
