The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) has intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the Association of Iron Benders, Welders and Blacksmiths, alongside over 100 volunteer groups under its Directorate of NGOs and Civil Societies, pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The groups visited the GMT national office in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, where they expressed solidarity with the movement and reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising support for Tinubu ahead of the elections.
Receiving the Association of Iron Benders, Welders and Blacksmiths, the National Director-General of GMT, Hon. Bisi Yusuf, urged members to return to their communities and embark on door-to-door campaigns to encourage eligible voters to participate in the electoral process and mobilise support for the President.
Responding, members of the association expressed their commitment to Tinubu’s re-election bid, pledging to take the campaign to households across their communities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a separate engagement, over 100 volunteer groups under the Directorate of NGOs and Civil Societies, headed by Professor Oguntunase, also visited the GMT office to demonstrate their readiness for the forthcoming elections.
Speaking on behalf of the volunteer groups, Professor Oguntunase said members were prepared to participate actively in the electoral process, including monitoring activities at polling units and mobilising support for the ruling party.
Addressing the groups, Yusuf described President Tinubu as the answer to Nigeria’s challenges and urged them to strengthen their grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The engagements form part of GMT’s ongoing outreach to community associations, non-governmental organisations and volunteer networks as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
