Residents of Ward C in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) benefited from a free medical outreach brought to the community through the collaborative efforts of “Tripple A”— the Councillor representing Ward C, Hon. Ganiyu O. Anifowoshe (GOA); the Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Adewale Salisu; and the Supervisor for Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), Hon. Adetunji G. Akinola (AGA)

The outreach provided residents with a range of free healthcare services, including tuberculosis screening, blood pressure checks, eye examinations, the distribution of prescription eyeglasses, and other basic medical services aimed at promoting preventive healthcare.

Speaking during the programme, the Councillor representing Ward C, Hon. Ganiyu Anifowoshe, said the outreach was organised to help residents know their health status and detect illnesses early.

He noted that the ward had not witnessed such a healthcare intervention in nearly two decades and expressed appreciation to residents for their support.

He also encouraged them to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) to enable the government to sustain people-oriented programmes.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, commended the Ward C officials for initiating the programme, describing it as a laudable and unprecedented health intervention in the ward.

He urged residents to take full advantage of the free medical services and continue embracing preventive healthcare.

Also speaking, Hon. Abayomi Salisu, the Supervisor for Environment said the initiative was conceived by the three officials, popularly known as “Tripple A,” after identifying healthcare as one of the most meaningful ways to improve the lives of residents.

He described the outreach as part of the dividends of democracy and encouraged beneficiaries to make routine medical check-ups a regular habit.

He also acknowledged the support of the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, whose administration has continued to prioritise healthcare interventions across the council area.

Chairman of Owutu/Ireakari CDA, Mr. Hassan Balogun, described the outreach as a commendable initiative by the Ward C representatives. He also praised the officials for facilitating the construction of about seven roads in his community since assuming office, noting that the projects had significantly improved the lives of residents.

He pledged to mobilise support for the APC in the 2027 elections to ensure the continuation of the ongoing developmental efforts.

The Supervisor for Community Affairs, Hon. Balikis Olayinka, described the medical outreach as the first of its kind in Ward C and urged residents to continue supporting the government in appreciation of its commitment to improving their welfare through impactful programmes.

The outreach attracted a large turnout of residents, many of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that provided access to essential healthcare services at no cost.
