
The Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikorodu North LCDA, Comrade Jackson Adewale Ayika-Ogunkoya, has described the official presentation and handover of the council’s newly constituted ward structures to the five Honourable Councillors in Ikorodu North LCDA as a major milestone in strengthening youth leadership at the grassroots.
According to the coordinator, the exercise was designed to reinforce the NYCN’s commitment to building an effective and sustainable framework for youth engagement across the five wards of the council area. He noted that the initiative also aims to foster stronger collaboration between elected representatives and youth leaders at the community level.
Comrade Jackson expressed appreciation for the warm reception received from the councillors, stating that they welcomed the initiative and pledged to work closely with the newly constituted NYCN ward executives to promote youth development within their respective wards.
He said the successful handover reflects the council’s belief that meaningful development is driven by effective structures, strategic partnerships, and purposeful leadership, adding that the initiative lays the foundation for a more inclusive and impactful youth movement in Ikorodu North LCDA.
The coordinator also charged the newly inaugurated ward executives to uphold integrity, dedication, and excellence in carrying out their responsibilities, urging them to serve as representatives and mobilisers of young people in their communities.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NYCN Ikorodu North LCDA to advancing youth empowerment and strengthening grassroots participation, stressing that the council would continue to implement initiatives that positively impact young people across the local council development area.
